भारत में डिग्री मिलना आसान है। नौकरी मिलना नहीं। हर साल लाखों बच्चे college से निकलते हैं। CV में degree होती है, experience नहीं। HR interview में पूछते हैं “कोई काम किया है ?” और ज़्यादातर जवाब होता है – “नहीं, बस पढ़ाई।”
सरकार ने इसी gap को देखा। 2024 के Union Budget में एक scheme announce हुई जो 2026 में काफी बड़ी हो गई है: PM Internship Scheme (PMIS). हर महीने ₹9000 stipend। India की top 500 companies में real काम। ऊपर से ₹6000 joining grant। और insurance भी free।
PM Internship Scheme – ये scheme है क्या ?
Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) की तरफ से run होती है। Official portal है pminternship.mca.gov.in। 2024 में pilot phase से शुरू हुई। अब तीसरे phase में है। Target है अगले 5 साल में 1 करोड़ युवाओं को India की top 500 companies में internship देना।
अभी portal पर 34,000 से ज़्यादा internships live हैं। 300 से ज़्यादा companies पहले से register हैं। TCS, Infosys, Reliance, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC, ICICI, Mahindra, Wipro, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever जैसे बड़े नाम शामिल हैं। 21 अलग-अलग sectors हैं। IT, banking, automotive, FMCG, oil & gas, energy, manufacturing – सब।
₹9000 कहाँ से आते हैं ?
पैसा दो जगह से आता है। सरकार देती है ₹8000 हर महीने, सीधे आपके Aadhaar-linked bank account में DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) के ज़रिए। Company अपने CSR fund से ₹1000 देती है। इसके अलावा joining पर एक बार ₹6000 का onboarding grant मिलता है, 2 installments में। ये पहले महीने के travel और खर्च के लिए है।
पुराने phases में stipend ₹5000 थी। Phase 3 में सरकार ने इसे लगभग double कर दिया। Insurance भी मिलती है। Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana और Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, दोनों के premium government भरती है।

कौन apply कर सकता है ?
Age: 18 से 25 साल। पहले यह 21-24 थी। PIB की official press release के मुताबिक MCA ने March 2026 में eligibility expand की।
Education: 10th pass से लेकर graduation तक। ITI holders, diploma holders, undergraduate students – सब eligible हैं।
Final year students: अब वो भी apply कर सकते हैं। पर college से NOC (No Objection Certificate) लानी होगी। HOD, Dean, या Principal से signed। NOC में confirm होना चाहिए कि internship studies को affect नहीं करेगी।
जो apply नहीं कर सकते:
- Full-time regular job करने वाले
- Full-time studies में enrolled (last year को छोड़कर)
- जिनके घर में कोई permanent government employee है
- B.Tech, MBA, CA, PhD holders
Citizenship: सिर्फ Indian citizens।
कौन-कौन सी companies हैं ?
Companies का चुनाव उनके पिछले 3 साल के average CSR spending के हिसाब से होता है। इसीलिए ये सब financially stable और socially responsible हैं।
अभी portal पर ये नाम मिलते हैं :
TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra (IT sector), Reliance Industries, Aditya Birla Group (conglomerate), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Muthoot Finance (banking & finance), Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra (automotive), Hindustan Unilever (FMCG), Larsen & Toubro (infrastructure)। नए phase में Global Capability Centers (GCCs) और service-sector companies भी जुड़ी हैं।
Apply कैसे करें ? Step by step
Step 1: जाएं pminternship.mca.gov.in पर। यही एकमात्र official government portal है। किसी और website पर form fill मत करना।
Step 2: “Youth Registration” पर click करें। अपना 10-digit mobile number डालें। Aadhaar-linked number prefer करें क्योंकि OTP वहीं जाएगा।
Step 3: OTP verify करें। Password set करें। अब account बन गया।
Step 4: Profile पूरी तरह fill करें। Personal details, contact details, education (10th से आगे), skills, और preferred sectors सब। e-KYC Aadhaar से complete करनी होगी।
Step 5: Bank details डालें। Aadhaar seeding NPCI BASE portal के ज़रिए करना ज़रूरी है। बिना इसके stipend account में नहीं आएगी।
Step 6: Internships browse करें। Sector, location, या keyword से search होती है। एक साथ 5 तक compare कर सकते हैं, 3 में apply।
Step 7: Offer letter आए तो 14 दिन के अंदर accept करना होगा। 14 दिन निकले तो offer automatically cancel।
Application fee: बिल्कुल zero।
ज़रूरी documents क्या चाहिए ?
Apply करने से पहले ये ready रखो:
- Aadhaar Card (e-KYC के लिए mandatory)
- Class 10 marksheet (minimum education proof)
- आगे की degree या diploma, जो भी हो
- Aadhaar-linked bank account details
- Latest passport-size photo (JPG या PNG format)
- Final year students के लिए: college NOC
- Mobile number जो Aadhaar से linked हो
Duration और terms
Typically 12 महीने। कुछ sectors में 6 या 9 महीने के flexible tracks भी हैं। Important condition: कम से कम 50% time actual workplace में बिताना होगा। Classroom training count नहीं होगी।
अगर 50% से पहले internship छोड़ दी तो Participation Certificate नहीं मिलेगा। और ₹6000 grant की दूसरी installment (₹3000) भी forfeit होगी। पूरा करने पर government-recognized completion certificate मिलता है।

Job guarantee है क्या ?
नहीं। PMIS एक internship program है, permanent job offer नहीं। पर scheme की terms में clearly लिखा है: companies अपनी मर्ज़ी से अच्छे interns को hire कर सकती हैं। कोई रोक नहीं।
सोचो इसे एक paid trial की तरह। 12 महीने Mahindra या HDFC में real काम करके जो experience आएगा, वो किसी college project से नहीं आएगा। Resume पर वो नाम दिखते हैं तो HR का attitude automatically बदलता है।

ये scheme किसके लिए है ?
उन्हीं के लिए जो college के बाद “experience नहीं है” वाली दीवार से टकरा रहे हैं। ITI करके बैठे हो, कोई नहीं देख रहा? यहाँ आओ। Diploma है पर job नहीं मिल रही? यहाँ आओ। Final year में हो और सोच रहे हो degree से पहले कुछ शुरू करूं ? यहाँ आओ। India में 37 करोड़ से ज़्यादा युवा हैं। ये scheme उन सबके लिए है जो sirf degree holder नहीं, industry-ready बनना चाहते हैं।
